The After Math

We used to walk after math
You would always make me laugh
Until one day things changed
It came as a surprise to me like a hurricane
I walked alone
Pretending to text on my phone
Now I notice
I can no longer stop at my locker and say "Hold this."
Now everyday
In that hallway
When I think of you
I just review
The after math

Volleyball

First I walk onto the court
I wish the other team good luck
The stands are filled with people
I really hope I don't suck.

The serve comes over the net
A teammate receives the ball
I get ready to take my approach
I should have an advantage because I'm tall.

Everyone is watching
The ball is set
I start moving forward
I hope I hit it over the net.

It's on its way down
I jump up into the air
My arms go back
The ball is right there.

I make contact
It surpasses the net
It's on its way down
But it's not there yet.

It hits the floor
There is a loud noise
The point is ours
I'm filled with all kind of joys.

This is the feeling I love
Having an important role on the team
I feel so accomplished
This is my dream.

Monster

The little boy sleeps.
Monsters awake to frighten.
Hairy, scary, yikes.

They climb up the stairs.
In the closet move about.
Under bed waiting.

The boy they must haunt.
Fright and scare they will prepare.
Beware the closet.

Lights go out darkness.
Monsters stalk their lonely prey.
Lights on screaming saved.

Slippers under bed.
Jacket inside the closet.
Puppy on the stairs.

The People in My Life

Whose cooking fills the house with the warm aroma that makes your mouth water?
Dads' cooking.
Who always does the laundry and makes sure we have clean clothes?
The one that nurtures the children.
When the wind is howling, and the trees are scratching the house, who comes running into your room because he can't sleep?
The youngest in the family.
After Thanksgiving dinner, whose hair does Gram curl while making hot tea?
Sam, my cousin Sam's hair.
Who can you always go to for advice, no matter what time it is, where you are, or who you're with?
A best friend.
Who must you always stay true to, even if you're covering up on the outside?
Yourself, the most important of them all.

Quick Write Poem

It's been a while since I drank lemonade or heard the name "Lefty."
It's been a while since I thought certain thoughts.
What happens to those thoughts?
Does it hide in its little apartment in one's mind
And shut the door with lock and key
And become that bitter old lady that never her leaves her apartment?
Maybe it died in there.
Who would know?
Or does it pack its bags and take the shuttle into someone else's mind.
Why doesn't it say goodbye?

It's been a while since I thought certain thoughts
and drank lemonade with Lefty.

His Dog

Hey, where's Lucy?

I'm a dog. I can't answer your question. Thought the dog.

I said, where's Lucy?

What did I just say? Wait, that didn't make sense. Thought the dog.

You know, you look pretty familiar. Have you filled in for Lucy before?

I'm your dog. Of course I look familiar. Thought the dog.

You're a funny-looking guy. You know, like, not to be mean or anything, but I've never seen anyone quite like you.

If only you didn't feed me every day, I'd be able to leave you, guilt free. Thought the dog.

Whatever. Lucy sure hires some useless assistants

where ARE you GOING!?

WHERE WERE YOU?!

I’m sorry?

TELL ME, now!

Uh… if I do, I will get in trouble!

Like I care? Let me ask again! Where were you?

I don’t know… it was dark and I was confused

I guess you still are confused!?

Ya, I mean I really don’t even know where I am right now!

Are you drunk or high?

Mhhmm!

Are you asking to be grounded for a month?

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Bad At Poetry Poem

Oh, I'm so bad at writing poems
I wish I was not
I'm so bad at writing poems
My poems should just rot
It takes me so long, to write one little piece
If only they were good, I'd be satisfied, at least!
I'm so bad at writing poems
The ideas just don't come to my head
I'm so bad at writing poems
I rather just stay in bed
Sometimes my poems take weeks to perfect
Everyone else's poetry is better than mine, I bet
I never know, does it sound more intelligent when I rhyme?
Because that is what I do most of the time
I sit down and start to write this crap, that's how the process goes
But what I'm even worse at than writing poetry--
Well...that's prose!

Friendship

Friendship is cruel
Friendship is mean
Sometimes it is in between
A friendship should last forever
But it might end for the better
Good friends have your back
But in the end they may talk smack
Friends help you when you’re blue
Because they know just what to do
Friends are evil
Friends are kind
They’d think twice before leaving you behind
In their minds, they don’t have a clue
What it feels like to have nothing to do
You have to realize people are rude
And move on with your life, you have much better things to do
Don’t think about the past
Think about moving on the right track
Hold your head up high with a smile on your face
They will realize being mean has no place.

Not in the Mood

Not In The Mood!

Where do you want to go tonight?

IDK.

What did you have in mind?

Nothing.

Did you want to go to dinner?

Eh.

Do you want to go to a movie?

Not reallyyy.

Why Not?

Not in the mood!
Do you have any candy?
Nope.
Then what's in that big bag?
Stuff.
Like what?
I don't know.
Any candy?
Maybe
at the
bottom.

Dreams

You’re in my dreams

Because that’s where you exist

I wish I could see you for real

I want to find you

I patiently wait to fall into deep sleep

To see your angel face once more

I can't wait to be with you

Even though it's for a few hours

In my dreams you shall remain.
